As you all have known, I've created this blog to share my feelings about my job (my first post)
http://bbrendalim.weebly.com/home/job-commitments (click hyperlink) And since this blog is created.. I thought, maybe, I should used this as a medium to share about destinations around the world! And recently, I saw this post about choosing a career, "we should do what we love". As most of our lives, we will be working from 18-65 years, maybe. Waiting for tomorrow or when you have time or more money, or waiting for the weekend to come again shouldn't be an issue. BECAUSE - Once those years are gone, they are gone forever. We only have one shot, one chance to make the most out of it, to make sure you're happy with your life. Hence its important to do something you love. You can't wait for anyone's support, you can't wait for anyone's affirmation. Sometimes, you gotta run. You look behind you and say, "anybody who wants to run, RUN" You can't stop chasing your dreams, because somebody say you can't chase them. You can't stop believing in yourself, cause somebody in your life doesn't believe in you. You can't stop chasing the dreams in your life, cause you know when you do it, you don't have to do it by yourself. You CAN do it by yourself. Believe in yourself. (Ehrling - This is my passion) And as for myself, I am still in a dilemma.. Looking for opportunities to bring me further than I've imagined..

City of Love; City of Lights - that's what Paris is often referred to. Spending a couple of days or a weekend is just enough to explore the city; filled with romance, culture, arts, shopping and desserts! Paris has many museum to offer housing some important collections in the world - Mona Lisa & Venus de Milo. Walk through beautiful alleys and passages while having a macaroon or croissant. Or you can enjoy a relaxing day in one of the many gardens or parks. And to the Eiffel tower for sunset while waiting for it to sparkle by night.
There are few mountains you can hike in Bali. Mt Agung (3031m). Two other mountains are Mt Caldera (1730m) and Mt Batur (1717m).
I've been up to the surroundings of Mount Agung for the Besakih Temple - Pura Besakih. This temple is the largest Hindu temple in Bali located in the village of Besakih. Beautiful temple surrounded with breathtaking views of Bali countryside. FYI - You have to be physically fit to hike up Mount Agung (3,031m). Mount Agung is quite a challenging mountain to hike. Hiking? Skiing? Snow? Magnificent mountains? Little quint village? Adventure? Does it appeal to you?
Grindelwald is a small little town located South East of Interlaken; Bernese Alps (about 30 mins drive). You can either stay a night or do a day trip. The drive from Interlaken to Grindelwald was amazing! You will not be disappointed. Set off early so you will have the whole day at the little quint Grindelwald town, the Mountain of First and Pfingstegg. Lots of adventure and fun awaits you! This is one of my Favorite Mountain I've visited as there's so much to do! One day isn't enough. This mountain is recommended for the adventure seeking! If you are an outdoor person and not like the urban living that much, you won't be able to resist this little mountainous Switzerland. You will be wowed by their numerous mountains, lakes, little medieval village, snow alps, and hiking trail and ski resorts. I believe there is no right season to visit as all seasons would be just as perfect. What is there not to love about this country. Relax by the lake/mountain, have a sip of wine and have some Swiss chocolate or cheese. I've chose to go after Summer just to avoid the crowd and long lines.
I was told Amsterdam was one of the most romantic city in the world. A place filled with many gorgeous looking canals has been a dream destination for lovey dovey couples. A city filled with many attractions from museum to windmills to smoking weed and chilling by the river canal. Nightlife (red light district) had been eventful as this is the only city that prostitution is made legal. Not only that, smoking weed is legal too! And can be bought at souvenir stall (weed lollipop €1) or at "coffee shops".
Athens is the capital of Greece, birthplace of the Greek Empire and Greek God. Home to rich history, ancient architecture & archaeological sites. You will be charmed by this little city, a combination of old and new. Summer will be the best time to visit. Though I only had a day in Athens, I did say I covered quite a lot. Went on a self walking tour (mentioned below) and spent my evening chilling at a nice al fresco restaurant.
Best trip of my life! I have never thought I would visit Greece so soon. I was rostered to Athens on my 7th flight! It was a seasonal and rare flight and I was lucky to even get it. My first ever Europe trip. I got to experience what this job feels like and met the most fantastic crew who became one of my closest friends. They are the only set of crew that I still meet up back at home. A city full of ultramodern skyscrapers that looks like Wall-E the movie where the tallest building in the world lies; Burj Khalifa and the most outrageous manmade islands; Atlantis and the Palm. Dubai is considered expensive although it's located in middle east. Food and shopping in malls are similar to USA. Both local and American style. They even have an large aquarium inside the Dubai Mall (largest mall). When I'm there, I feel like I'm living in 2050s and the Earth is almost coming to an end - the heat and skyscrapers and bridges that links cars around..
Birth place of Swedish Meatballs and Ikea. Land of scandinavian landscape and age of the vikings. Malmö is the 3rd largest city in Sweden where it's located closest to Denmark. Making your way to Malmö from Copenhagen is easy! It's just about 25 minutes train ride away. When you arrive in Malmö, the station looks so clean and minimalist, like Ikea? And the town looks like an old viking town from floor tiles to old castle buildings. Maybe newer generation of Game of Thrones? ;p
Everything looks like a mixture of new and old together! Home to lego houses, lego, minimalists and terrible weather. Feels like London's weather almost throughout the year; typical scandinavian country. The city feels clean, neat and super developed. It was the peak of winter (winter wonderland market!) when I was there. Weather was bad as the sunrise starts at 8.30am and set at 3.30pm. We were already engulfed by darkness by 4pm! I felt so depressed. Not sure how do people live in winter. I need the sunlight to operate else I would have already been contacted with depression!
I did not know India was such a lovely place! I instantly fell in love with the city. Maybe cause it's a smaller city than those bigger ones (Delhi, Bombay), it feels more homely and slow paced. I'm a person who love laid-back, non city life, ruins, ancient, undeveloped, grass, mountains, ocean, sightsee, relax, chill.. I believe city just looks like any other cities in the world.
Since I do not know how to speak or read Hindi, bus and train was quite inconvenient for me. Hence I just took a tuktuk & uber everywhere I go. Generally people in Ahmedabad are friendly and I do not feel harassed by anyone. In fact, I felt like I was a celebrity! Everyone wanted to take photo with me! Perhaps cause I'm fairer and more exotic and they seldom see foreigners? HAHA! Ain't sure who the real tourist are. Me or them? Yet I ask myself over and over again, Is this the life I want.. Is this the job I want.. Yes it does pay well and not very well too. Well enough for me to survive alone for now. But the pay is stagnant. The longer you stay, the amount you get will be the same for 5, 10, 15 years. Totally opposite from other jobs where there's increments. However it's easy money so to say. All I have to do is sacrifice my sleep, my health (different time zones), my life at home with family and friends.
Yes there's glamour and fun such as seeing the world. Free travel. But how fun is it when you only get 10-40 hours to explore.. |
