I was told Amsterdam was one of the most romantic city in the world. A place filled with many gorgeous looking canals has been a dream destination for lovey dovey couples. A city filled with many attractions from museum to windmills to smoking weed and chilling by the river canal. Nightlife (red light district) had been eventful as this is the only city that prostitution is made legal. Not only that, smoking weed is legal too! And can be bought at souvenir stall (weed lollipop €1) or at "coffee shops". My 2nd Europe flight was extremely tough. Met with many difficulties during flight and even broke down for the first time. Despite all these negativity, I learnt to put them away and embrace the fact that I was in Amsterdam. scroll/click small icons for more image views of slide show As transportation is expensive, mode of transport for commuters were mainly cycling all over town. There's even a lane just for bicycle. There are also many walking streets in Amsterdam and flea markets around. Attractions: IAmsterdam sign: Best time to go is in the morning when there's less people. You can check out Rijksmuseum, its really exquisite. Jordaan is a lovely district and there was where I found the prettiest vintage market and the cutest tiniest strawberries. Bloemenmarkt is pretty alluring as well (world's only floating flower market). Albert Cuyp Market was really good and I really enjoyed those cheap deals on the street. Vondelpark is really lovely too. Food: Amsterdam is famous for their homemade stroopwafels. I was so addicted to it and bought 3 packs home! You can even find them freshly on the streets (best of them all) You can try raw herring fish as well. Personally I do not like it. It's famous all over North Europe; Scandinavian countries. Crepes and pancakes are all over Amsterdam and it's one of their staples perhaps? Such as Poffertjies, which are small fluffy pancakes. Appeltaart are commonly found as well. There are also many cheese stalls around and I even bought home some smoked cheese. They are really good! Also, if you're a peanut butter and Nutella fan, this is a great place to get it! Cheap and good!! scroll/click small icons for more image views of slide show Red light district: It's really an interesting sight and it start to get crowded at about 10pm. There are walking tours and I did join in and learnt so much interesting things! oh myyyyy~ - Minimum €50 you get 15 mins with a lady. - And there's a body condom protector if the lady thinks you're dirty and there's no shower area. -- >whole body will be covered except your dick. - Every red room is different and priced differently for rent. - If they like you, they will open their glass doors for you. - They are protected by the government and the police will come if they press the panic button in their rooms. Being curious, I went to check out the live peep show. For €2, I get 5 mins live peep show (man and woman/ woman only) through a glass screen. Quite an interesting sight. Broadened the way I look at things overseas. Zaanse Schans; city of windmillsThe train gets to Zaanse Schans from Amsterdam Centraal Station to Koog-Zaandijk. It cost about €7 to get there, about 4 stops and 15 minutes away followed by a 15 minutes walk to Zaanse Schans. The walk was beautiful and you will get to a bridge. Cross it and you will arrive in the wonderful little town of windmills and cute little houses. It is really picture perfect! Many things to do for an afternoon getaway! Farms, small stall, museums, history shops, souvenir stall, cheese factory (yums), chocolate factory, restaurant and cafes. scroll/click small icons for more image views of slide show
