Athens is the capital of Greece, birthplace of the Greek Empire and Greek God. Home to rich history, ancient architecture & archaeological sites. You will be charmed by this little city, a combination of old and new. Summer will be the best time to visit. Though I only had a day in Athens, I did say I covered quite a lot. Went on a self walking tour (mentioned below) and spent my evening chilling at a nice al fresco restaurant.
Best trip of my life! I have never thought I would visit Greece so soon. I was rostered to Athens on my 7th flight! It was a seasonal and rare flight and I was lucky to even get it. My first ever Europe trip. I got to experience what this job feels like and met the most fantastic crew who became one of my closest friends. They are the only set of crew that I still meet up back at home.

A city full of ultramodern skyscrapers that looks like Wall-E the movie where the tallest building in the world lies; Burj Khalifa and the most outrageous manmade islands; Atlantis and the Palm. Dubai is considered expensive although it's located in middle east. Food and shopping in malls are similar to USA. Both local and American style. They even have an large aquarium inside the Dubai Mall (largest mall). When I'm there, I feel like I'm living in 2050s and the Earth is almost coming to an end - the heat and skyscrapers and bridges that links cars around..
Birth place of Swedish Meatballs and Ikea. Land of scandinavian landscape and age of the vikings. Malmö is the 3rd largest city in Sweden where it's located closest to Denmark. Making your way to Malmö from Copenhagen is easy! It's just about 25 minutes train ride away. When you arrive in Malmö, the station looks so clean and minimalist, like Ikea? And the town looks like an old viking town from floor tiles to old castle buildings. Maybe newer generation of Game of Thrones? ;p
Everything looks like a mixture of new and old together! Home to lego houses, lego, minimalists and terrible weather. Feels like London's weather almost throughout the year; typical scandinavian country. The city feels clean, neat and super developed. It was the peak of winter (winter wonderland market!) when I was there. Weather was bad as the sunrise starts at 8.30am and set at 3.30pm. We were already engulfed by darkness by 4pm! I felt so depressed. Not sure how do people live in winter. I need the sunlight to operate else I would have already been contacted with depression!
I did not know India was such a lovely place! I instantly fell in love with the city. Maybe cause it's a smaller city than those bigger ones (Delhi, Bombay), it feels more homely and slow paced. I'm a person who love laid-back, non city life, ruins, ancient, undeveloped, grass, mountains, ocean, sightsee, relax, chill.. I believe city just looks like any other cities in the world.
Since I do not know how to speak or read Hindi, bus and train was quite inconvenient for me. Hence I just took a tuktuk & uber everywhere I go. Generally people in Ahmedabad are friendly and I do not feel harassed by anyone. In fact, I felt like I was a celebrity! Everyone wanted to take photo with me! Perhaps cause I'm fairer and more exotic and they seldom see foreigners? HAHA! Ain't sure who the real tourist are. Me or them? |
